Breaking Free

Up until this point, eliminate the things people have said about you, who abandoned, abused and used you. The labels you were given and those things that you have done in your past. Take off the hurt, brokenness, guilt, and shame for a moment and let your heart receive your new identity that can only be found in Jesus Christ.

Jeremiah 1:5 says, "I knew you before I formed you in your mother's womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations."

Struggling to love myself because the first man that should've loved me but didn't.

Such an invigorating reminder to myself as an adult. As a little girl I was abandoned by my biological father. I was lost, broken, confused and constantly searching for my identity. Struggling to love myself because the first man that should've loved me but didn't. I always felt like something was wrong with me. Afraid to give too much to any relationship out of fear of being rejected, abandoned and left alone.

This spilled over into my adulthood, even my relationship with God; thinking that his love had conditions.

But God is not a man that He should lie. (Numbers 23:19)

Harboring pain, abandonment, and unforgiveness, kept me in bondage. Kept me from freely accepting the calling on my life and boldly walking in my gifts.

It wasn’t until I prayed and completely surrendered to God that I began to walk in my freedom. (Jeremiah 29:13)

Healing is a process and different for each person. I constantly affirm myself with the word of God and profess over myself what God says about me daily even throughout the day.

I want to encourage you. Keep the labels off. If those things don’t align with what God says in his Word. Release it. Break Free.

Jesus said to him,” I am the way, the truth, and the life. (John 14:6)
