Adam and Eve thought they could keep a secret from God by hiding behind a bush He created in the Garden of Eden. Oh, how clever of them to think up this grand scheme.
Genesis 3:8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.
Eve had permitted the enemy to drop words in her spirit that didn't align with the word of God. We call these half-truths. (Genesis 3:1-5)
Listening to the enemy led to her rebelling against the word of God. As much as we can look at the scriptures from a self-righteous standpoint and say, I wouldn't have done that, or how could she.
We must self-examine ourselves with the word of God and realize that we probably would have succumbed to the enemy's tricks and risked our future with God.
As women, we can be overworked, overstimulated, and become disconnected from God. Something happened to Eve that day in the garden that distorted her thinking, and she didn't use the spiritual tools to which she had direct access.
In fact, the majority of us operate from this same place. We don't utilize prayer, reading the word, fasting, etc.
Instead of thriving, we are only surviving from day to day. Before we realize it, we are caught between a rock and a hard place of how we got here and what we need to do to get out of it.
Here's what this looks like in real-time:
Press into prayer to discover your weaknesses and know when to ask God for help and wisdom.
Getting distracted by the enemy's voice is a weakness that must be identified and addressed.
Coming into an agreement with anything the devil says is dangerous and leads to an opportunity for you to miss out on God's best for your life.
Feeling disconnected, don't shut down on God but take action to reconnect to Him now.
Can you relate?
If you can, please don't beat yourself up.
These behaviors can be corrected.
God is calling you to return to Him right now. He wants to restore the imbalance within your spirit.
AND…
Disobedience does not have to be your regular.
Walking with God doesn't have to be intense all the time if we submit our lives to Him.
You can have peace, His presence, creativity, and restfulness if you show up like you want Him to help you.
A relationship with Jesus is a spiritual benefit that improves your quality of life for success in all areas.
This is where we allow the Holy Spirit to come in and dwell in our hearts today.
Father in Heaven, I invite you in right now to eliminate the stress in my life so that I can trust you more and thrive in your presence. I want to be like you, more like you. I invite the Holy Spirit into my heart to foster my growth and hold me accountable. Lord, I will interact with you and discuss all my pondering questions. Forgive me for my sins and unrighteousness towards you. Nudge me when I do wrong and help me to get back on the right path. In Jesus' name, amen.
Thank you for reminding us that JESUS is the key to success in every part of our lives. Keep spreading the good news of HIM. Blessings Sister!
